Flickr

Flickr is a social media site, which allows users to upload, share, and discover photographs.

It can also be accessed directly if you have a Google or Facebook account which allows streaming of photos from Flickr direct on to your Facebook page, website or Twitter.

Many organisations such as NASA and The White House utilise this site so you can view photo streams from them plus the Smithsonian Museums, the House of Commons and many other worldwide organisations.

Photographs are easy to upload, directly from your own computer, camera or phone and can then be organised and categorised.

The creator of the photograph retains copyright and intellectual property rights, but there are facilities to contact the copyright holder for permission to use an image.

All images are tagged and using the search facility anyone can locate images that relate to particular events, locations, people, objects or organisations.
