1939 – Nine Czech students are murdered after a protest against the Nazi party, prompting today to be International Students Day.

1970 – The first patent is received for a computer mouse.

1982 – Duk Koo Kim dies two days after a fourteen round boxing match, prompting reforms in the sport.

1997 – 62 people are massacred in Luxor, outside the tomb of Hatshepsut. The 6 assailants are then killed by police.
