1665 – The London Gazette is first published and still survives today!

1907 – Jesus Garcia saves a Mexican town from destruction as he takes it upon himself to drive a burning train full of dynamite six miles outside a town. Garcia is a National Hero.

1908 – Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid are reportedly killed in Bulgaria.

1918 – The 1918 Influenza Epidemic spreads to Samoa and kills 20% of the population by the end of the year.

1941 – A Soviet hospital ship is sunk by German aircraft. It is estimated that 5000 people die from drowning.

1994 – The world’s first online radio broadcast comes from the University of North Carolina’s student radio.

2007 – The Jokela school shooting takes place in Finland, with 9 people being left dead.
