Overwhelmed

Work, work, work. So much of it. But it’s a good thing, I guess. Self-development is what we all need, isn’t it? I don’t want to be seen as a moaner again, but I am seriously doing my best to keep things going. The update to my previous status is that I’m no longer unemployed. I work as a KP (kitchen porter) in a busy Italian restaurant. The work itself is very hard, especially on the weekends, when it’s really busy. I kind of expected to struggle a bit less – I wanted to be a waiter or a bartender, but the recession has a huge impact on many companies and they don’t need that much staff right now. If they do, they are looking for experienced people, usually older (about 25 years old). I hope to be promoted in December, fingers crossed. I have already earned the money for this month’s rent so I am quite happy with myself. I just hope that they’ll give me fewer hours soon because I don’t even have time for my uni work.

Things are looking a bit better now. I am going to see my family and friends soon and I’m very excited about that fact. A week off is going to be useful and let me rest a bit.

By the way, I have to say that I’m really thankful for the Social Media module. Never would I’ve thought that facebook and twitter can be used in such a useful way. Latest excavation – Zebrahead and Less Than Jake are coming to Edinburgh! I don’t know if I’ll be able to attend yet, but I am surely excited.

For those of you, interested in participating:

Zebrahead on facebook.

You can find the info there, as well as live updates from the band about how they feel doing the UK tour.

Finishing my coffee and this post I am going to… Work!
